IAEA: Second Visit to Iran Scheduled

Blue_Globe_EuroThe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that its inspectors, who had just completed a three-day visit to Iran, would return there in three weeks.

The inspectors will hold further discussions about the "clarification of possible military dimensions" to Iran's disputed nuclear program, the agency said, signaling that both sides were seeking ways to defuse rising tensions over the issue. The agency's statement was its first about the discussions since the inspectors left Iran.

"The agency is committed to intensifying dialogue," Yukiya Amano, the agency's director general, said in the statement, which was issued from the organization's headquarters in Vienna. "It remains essential to make progress on substantive issues."
