Tennessee is one of five states selected by the U.S. Department of Energy as a potential host for a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus, or NLIC.

The opportunity could expand Tennessee's role across the nuclear lifecycle, including research, advanced nuclear technologies, fuel production, recycling and reprocessing, and potentially the storage and long-term disposition of used nuclear fuel.
