Nuclear Company – LIS Technologies, Inc. (LIST)

LIS Technologies, Inc. (LIST) is a USA based, proprietary developer of a patented laser technology, that uses infrared lasers to selectively excite the molecules of desired isotopes and to separate them from other isotopes. Laser Enrichment of UF6 is an optimized approach to create LEU for use in large civil reactors and HALEU in Next-Gen SMRs and Microreactors. In 2024, LIS Technologies Inc. was selected by the DOE as one of six domestic companies to participate in the Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU) Enrichment Acquisition Program. This initiative allocates up to $3.4 billion overall, with contracts lasting for up to 10 years. Each awardee is slated to receive a minimum contract of $2 million. The research, development, and commercialization for this enrichment technology is happening in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

three-year-old laser technology startup is placing a $1.3 billion bet on uranium enrichment in Oak Ridge. Laser Isotope Separation Technologies plans to build an enrichment complex on Duct Island — now LIST Island — at the Heritage Center Industrial Park, company leaders and Tennessee and federal officials said at a public announcement Jan. 16. The company hopes to transform America’s access to nuclear fuel with Project FUEL: Future Uranium Enrichment with Lasers.
