On September 4, 2024, the State of Tennessee and Orano announced the selection of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as Orano's Preferred Site to construct a multi-billion-dollar, state-of-the-art centrifuge uranium enrichment facility. This is a major milestone towards bringing a new U.S. enrichment facility online to help meet America’s need for an increased, secure domestic nuclear fuel supply.

Orano is advancing through the processes to secure the land, the financing from the federal government, the customer commitments, and the license to build this much-needed American enrichment facility.

Orano's uranium enrichment center in Oak Ridge will be a multi-structure commercial production site covering approximately 750,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in America.

Facility operations will create an estimated 305 new direct jobs in Roane County and new business for regional suppliers.
