On September 4, 2024, the State of Tennessee and Orano announced the selection of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as Orano's Preferred Site to construct Project IKE, a multibillion-dollar, state-of-the-art centrifuge uranium enrichment facility. This is a major step towards bringing a new U.S. commercial enrichment facility online to help meet America’s need for another significant and secure domestic nuclear fuel supply.

Project IKE is advancing through milestones on schedule and has secured the land, received key financing from the federal government, begun hiring employees, and submitted the facility license application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to build this much-needed American enrichment facility.

Orano's multi-structure commercial enrichment facility will cover approximately 750,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in America.

More than 300 operational jobs would be created at the facility and an expected 1,000 construction jobs during development.
